This newly constructed nine-story, 234,000 square foot, Little Caesars Global Resource Center at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Columbia Street in The District Detroit features a one-of-its-kind Passive Optical Network (PON) powered by digital electricity (DE). The installation is a Corning ONE based solution with single mode fiber to the edge. The implementation is designed with four (4) optical line terminals, seven (7) software defined data planes, one (1) top of rack switch operating over nine hundred (900) optical line terminals allowing up to four thousand (4,000) user ports. This passive optical network supports six hundred (600) users, one hundred and sixty (160) security cameras, one hundred fifty (150) wireless access points with a building wide audio video solution supporting one hundred ten (110) Crestron Nvx’s, one hundred fifty (150) flat panel display, ten (10) video projectors, two (2) interactive video walls.
This cutting edge technology provides the owner with all the network connections they are accustom to with a less expensive network operational cost. The design eliminates the use of Ethernet switches in the network and reduces the overall network infrastructure. While future proofing the cabling infrastructure this allows the network maintenance to becomes centralized and easier to manage.
